Best rifle range accessories for 2026

Rifle pointed down range

Gear That Actually Improves Your Time On the Range

A productive day at the rifle range isn’t about showing up with the most gear — it’s less about tacticool clutter and more about efficiency, durability, and real-world usability. The gear that’s trending right now (especially coming out of events like SHOT Show 2026!) is about showing up with the right gear.

In 2026, shooters are prioritizing reliability, organization, and performance-enhancing tools over gimmicks. Whether you’re training, zeroing, or just putting rounds downrange, here are the accessories that actually matter.

The right range bag

Fact – if your range bag is a black hole of loose ammo and tangled gear, your entire day suffers. It’s a little like showing up to the riverbank with a little kid’s tackle box full of messy hooks and lures.

A well-designed bag keeps everything organized – ammo, PPE, tools, and admin gear all in dedicated compartments. Anything less feels like amateur hour.

We recommend the 5.11 Tactical Range Ready Trainer Bag

With its highly organized format, removable dividers for customization, and three side compartments, this rifle range bag makes all other range bags hang their heads in shame. For an added bonus, when we published this blog, the camo edition was on sale for $99. That’s a fantastic savings, these bags usually hover around $200.

When you’re on the range, organization means efficiency, which means less time digging and more time shooting.

Electronic Hearing Protection (Non-Negotiable Upgrade)

Anyone who has spent 10 minutes on a rifle range knows how important hearing protection is. In 2026, basic foam plugs are out. Electronic ear protection is the standard now.

We recommend Walker’s Razor Pro Slim Digital Earmuffs

Can’t you just see Grandpa rolling his eyes at the very idea of digital earmuffs? So can we, but also, Grandpa’s hearing sucks, so we’re going to let him have his attitude while we enjoy affordable electronic hearing protection (@$60) that amplifies conversation while protecting your hearing. With these babies, you’ll hear range commands clearly, communicate without having to take them off, and trainers will have a safer, more professional training environment.

Stacking shooting bags

Here again, these are not your Dad’s bench bean bags. We recommend Scheels Outfitters Stacking Shooting Bags.

We love this option for the rifle range because these stacking shooting bags offer a stable platform that dramatically improves repeatability and precision, especially for longer-range shooting. Whether you are bench or prone shooting, these are the ticket with adjustable elevation and limitless configurations.

Smart Tech: Target Cameras

If you’re a long-range shooter and a tech junkie, you’re in luck. This is the year “smart range gear” really hit stride.

We recommend the Longshot Ranger+ Target Camera System

With 5G wi-fi technology, this camera connects to your tablet or phone so you can see your shots right away. No more lugging back and forth down the range hundreds of yards to see where you’re hitting the target. This camera has a range of up to 1000 yards and sells for around $450, but this really does separate the men from the boys when it comes to long-range shooting.

Durable rifle mount for your truck, SUV, or side-by-side

Listen, before we talk about anything new and exciting in rifle accessories, we should probably first consider how you’re going to get your rifle to the range without it bouncing all over the place.

Jason Parmley, co-owner of XFrames Weapon Mounts, explains the gap he identified in the rifle mount market and how he fixed it.

“When I was growing up, the adults in my life had rifle racks in the back of their trucks and rifles lying in the backseat of their cars,” explains Jason. “When I started going to high school, I had my own rifle rack in the back window of my truck. I always kept a rifle or shotgun in the back of my truck, and so did all my friends and family. It was the normal thing to see – if you saw a truck without a gun in the back window, you knew they weren’t from the country.

When I was traveling for my previous job, I had a lot of time to think about our history as far as 2A rights and carrying rifles in your truck or car. I started seeing different mounts online but not a lot of choices, and the choices I saw were very expensive, not well-made, and not durable.

I started thinking that someone needed to come up with a rugged, affordable, quality rifle mount, and one night in a hotel, I started thinking about how I could do that. I started building my prototypes out of cardboard, paper, tin, and sheet metal until we landed on a steel prototype. From there, we patented the design, and now we fabricate these mounts for law enforcement, military, hunters, security personnel, civilian gun enthusiasts, and side-by-side owners.”

Jason – and every other rifle owner – knows that it doesn’t make any sense to sight in your rifle until it shoots on a dime, and then toss it on the backseat to toss around like a rag doll.

XFrames Weapon Mounts are made from American steel and built to last with a lifetime guarantee. Best of all, they are affordable — costing the same or in some cases, less — than plastic mounts that break down after 12-18 months.
